Specialist Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapists

SensoryWise Bramhall Occupational Therapy

Who are we?

We are SensoryWise Bramhall; experienced occupational therapists with a high pedigree of postgraduate training and qualifications to work with children and young people with sensory and motor difficulties. We work in the NHS, education and private sectors. We promote activity, quality of life and potential in children who are experiencing occupational disruption, deprivation, imbalance or isolation.

As occupational therapists we work with your children’s everyday activities which are troubling them and you. This includes using their hands for tasks such as to dress and eat, sleeping issues, and sensory issues.

Our role is to understand why a child is not fulfilling their potential of everyday activities and to provide strategies to improve their abilities to function in their world. We work with individuals and their families to improve everyday activities though one to one sessions, teaching functional activities by breaking down tasks into smaller steps to enable the children to achieve these important life skills.

We provide assessment, intervention, specialist reports and advice for children 0-16 years. Your child may not have a diagnosis but there are concerns about their development.

We can help in the following areas:

  • self-care skills
  • fine motor skills
  • gross motor skills
  • handwriting
  • sensory processing
  • attachment
  • vision perception
  • self-esteem
  • organisation skills
  • concentration and attention

Our goals for your child and you

  • Getting to know your child
  • Focus on impact of difficulties and how to adapt the environment to ameliorate the disability
  • Realistic timescale
  • Realistic what we can offer
  • We work to provide strategies for parents/carers, so you are more able to enable your children to reach their potential
  • We are honest when we can work with you and when we can’t
  • We offer a professional service which is good value
